This Interiors lifestyle brand has its origins in South Africa where the CLJ Home Founder – Charlotte Lawson Johnston – was born. She has vivid memories of her mother creating beautiful moments on a shoe string.

Charlotte has gone on to live a nomadic lifestyle from Switzerland to South America; gleaning much inspiration from her time in Argentina and Uruguay: the dusty towns of the campo… the earthy and quieter colours and tones of the villages of Garzon & Jose Ignacio. With a father who has been based between the East Coast of the US and the Bahamas, she has also inherited a fresh American preppy design aesthetic of classic geometric prints and the use of a bold colour palette.

Charlotte studied at the New York School of Interior Design and then textiles at Central Saint Martins in London. After working for some of England’s leading interior designers she then held an apprenticeship at a London based textiles printing factory. It was here she gained hands-on experience printing on the factory floor and where she would go on to print her first collection for CLJ Home.
